The Bruins played their first game at home with the expansion North Kawartha Knights on a snowy Halloween evening at the Bear Den! Uxbridge poured 52 shots on goal en route to a 5-1 win. But it took 18 minutes and 33 seconds before they would score as Jordan Nessbitt fed Alex Williamson and he found Daryl Thomson who finished of the play with a perfect wraparound for the first of two on the night. In the second period Marco Mastrangelo went end to end blowing by the defence and sliding the puck under the North Kawartha netminder. Jason Simmonds assisted on the goal. A wide open Thomson fired a bullet from Adam Bartholomew for a 3-0 lead but the Knights got one on their own to start the third, with the puck actually getting lodged in the net webbing by the hard slapshot. The Bruins added two more on goals by Alex Siblock and Tyson Eastgate for the 5-1 final. Mastrangelo, Nesbitt, Conner Evans and Patrick Bolahood added assists. The Bruins host the Lakefield Chiefs next Fri Nov.7th at the Bear Den.
