Uxbridge Bruins GM Mark Savery announces the Bruins New Head Coach.

I would like to welcome Darren Trussler to the Uxbridge Bruins Family as our new Head Coach.

We are excited to begin this upcoming season with a veteran coach behind our bench.

Darren has spent the past few years as an Assistant Coach in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. During that time, Darren was an intricate part of the Newmarket Hurricanes bench staff taking the team all the way to win the North Division Championship. In addition, Darren spent two years as Video Coach with the
Mississauga Steelheads in the Ontario Hockey League and the York University Lions men’s team, which captured the West Division Championship.

Darren has had the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the greatest coaches from the American Hockey League, East Coast Hockey League, CIS, OHL and the OJHL. Using this knowledge, Darren has had the privilege of seeing many
of his former players continue their playing careers in D1 Universities as well as in the OHL and Professional Organizations.

Darren was a NCCP Instructor with the Greater Toronto Hockey League and a member of the Under 17 Evaluation Group.
Prior to coaching in the OJHL, Darren had a very successful career coaching minor hockey in the Greater Toronto Hockey League. Darren currently resides in Aurora Ontario with his three boys.
Darren continues to volunteer his time and expertise to develop minor hockey players at the grassroots level.

Darren’s goal with the Uxbridge Bruins is to develop the team to rival even the most sought-after Junior A teams. He knows that this goal is achievable with hard work and perseverance from him, his staff and all the players.

Darren plans to fill in the rest of his bench staff in the near future.
Welcome once again Darren.

Mark Savery
Director Hockey Ops/ General Manager.
