The Bruins defeated the Gananoque Islanders 6-4 tonight on the strength of Jackson Savery’s Hatty. He opened the scoring and closed the scoring with goals by Justin Bennett, Cameron Moffitt and Daniel Giorgio in between.
Making his Bruins debut in goal was Jacob Gorden getting his first win of the season. Uxbridge is in Amherstview Sunday at 7:25 pm and back in Uxbridge next Friday Oct.5th to host the Georgina Ice.

The Bruins just couldn’t get the equalizer in the late stages of this game as they entered the third period down 2-1 to the Mojacks. With Ryan McConkey on the Bench for an extra attacker time ran out on the game and their season as the Bruins fell 4 games to 1 in this semi final. Simon Feig got the lone Uxbridge goal on one of their few chances on the night. Graham Lamers and Kudy Fruhner got the Mojack goals. Shawn Mabley picked up the win in goal for Port Perry.

Simon Feig scored a natural hat trick on Sunday afternoon starting with a goal with 1 second left on the clock in the first period.
Cameron Moffitt and Michael Rennie picked up assists. Feig added two to start the second with Carson Bell, Captain Bartholomew and Rennie assisting, chasing starter Shawn Mabley from the Port Perry net, Corey Kuypers entered the game in goal for the Mojacks. Kieran Beaudoin got the first of his two on the day from Aiden Reilly and Derek Dolan. Graham Lamers scored twice for the Mojacks as Uxbridge took a 4-2 lead into the dressing room after 2 periods of play.
It was Beaudoin, Daniel Wu and Robert Freckelton rounding out the scoring for a 7-2 final. Mathew Hunter, Rennie, Feig and Beaudoin helping out on the goals. Ryan McConkey faced 34 shots in standing tall in goal and the Bruins fired 33 at the Mojacks net.
Uxridge now trails 2 games 1 in this best of 7 series. Game 4 is this Tuesday Feb.27th at 8:15 pm at the Bear Den, Lets pack the house and support your Uxbridge Bruins.

The Bruins took a 1-0 lead into the second period on an unassisted goal by Aiden Reilly, but the Mojacks Graham Lamers came out and tied it up just 11 seconds into the second period. Derek Dolan and Cameron Moffitt gave the Uxbridge squad a 3-1 lead but before the end of the period Port Perry’s Derek Risebrough and Austin Mackie evened the score at 3-3.
Moffitt got the lead back but they couldn’t hold it as Lamers and Spencer Robinson gave the Mojacks the lead at 5-4. Mitchel Gustavsen got an insurance goal and they added an empty net goal by Adam Turner for the win.

After the Bruins opened the scoring at the 21 second mark on a goal by Robert Freckelton from Aiden Reilly and Kieran Beaudoin, the Port Perry Mojacks clawed their way back in the second period on goals by Jeff Gauld and Brady Martin for a 2-1 lead. They would add one more from Dan Harris for a 3-1 final with Game 2 Friday Feb.23rd at 7:45 pm at the Bear Den.

It was a scoreless first period but a well played one before Uxbridge got two goals in the second.
Michael Rennie popped home a shot of the back boards that deflected over to him and he had the wide open net to shoot at. Kyle Spataro’s point shot deflected off a player in front and through the legs of the Eagles net minder for a 2-0 lead.
The Eagles scored early in the third to cut the lead in half but the Bruins kept pressuring and were rewarded with an insurance goal on a great pass by Aiden Reilly to Derek Dolan. Adrian Addante picked up his first point as a Bruin also assisting on the play.
Some great goal tending again by Ryan McConkey for the “W” as he faced 38 shots, the Bruins fired 32 at the Eagles Mark Robb.
The Bruins need a little help from the Mojacks Thursday night. A Port Perry win will keep the Bruins chances alive to finish 3rd in the battle with Clarington.
