Bruins advance to Cougar Cup semi-finals

The Uxbridge Bruins completed the comeback on Saturday, Feb. 15th, eliminating the Little Britain Merchants with a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory in Game 3 of the PJHL Orr Division preliminary round.

The Bruins will now square off in the Orr Division Cougar Cup semi-finals in their quest to repeat as Division Champions. Their opponent will be the top-seeded Clarington Eagles. The action gets underway in Bowmanville on Thursday, Feb. 20. Game 2 is set for Friday, Feb. 21 at the Bear Den.

A Wild Finish as the Bruins win the game and series!

With time running out on the clock and the net off at the Bruins goal, the Merchants thought they had the tying goal but the Referee immediately wave off the goal giving the Bruins a wild 3-2 win over Little Britain and advance to face the Clarington Eagles.

After Tyler Watson opened the scoring for the home squad, Toby Cooper scored unassisted to even the score at 1-1, however Little Britain regained the lead on a Chris Talman goal to end the first up 2-1.

It was all Uxbridge Bruins in the second as Joshua Cammalleri from Mathew Hunter and Daniel Giorgio tied it, then Giorgio from Toby Cooper and Cammalleri for the game winning goal. Cam Smith with back to back stellar games in goal for Uxbridge.

Bruins Tie Up the Series!

Despite being out shot 65-35 the Bruins forced a game 3 to decide the the series tomorrow night in Little Britain. Daniel Giorgio and Dalton Strongman with an empty netter were the Bruins scorers and Jody Harris with a late goal to make for a close finish. Cam Smith played his best game as a Bruin turning aside all but one shot in this one.

For five decades, the Uxbridge Bruins have taken great pride in our hundreds of graduates. Our former players have gone on to accomplish great things in hockey, and in life.

Jan. 11 Game at North Kawartha postponed

With the looming threat of freezing rain, the scheduled road game on Saturday, Jan. 11 for the Bruins in Apsley against the North Kawartha Knights has been postponed.

Please check the website or our social media for details when the game is recheduled.

Bruins look to bounce back

The Uxbridge Bruins dropped a 4-1 decision to the Little Britain Merchants on Friday, Jan. 10 at the Bear Den.

Between the first and second periods, the Bruins were proud to welcome the Warriors IP team, as part of our continuing Minor Hockey Showcase events. Next Friday night, we will host the Red Cobras and the Bumblebees.

The Warriors IP team thrilled our crowd between the 1st and 2nd period.

Bruins welcome four new players to the Bear Den

The Uxbridge Bruins have been busy on the recruiting trail, adding four new players as we prepare for the second half of the 2019-20 PJHL season.

Goaltender Noah Acciaccaferri moves from South Durham to North Durham after starting the season with the Clarington Eagles. In 10 games with the Eagles, the Stouffville native picked up six wins.

Returning to the team is forward Jackson Evans. A member of the team in 2017, Evans looking to make up for lost time and is excited to showcase his hometown pride for the Black and Gold.

Colorado Springs native Cameron Gillis comes to Uxbridge after spending time with the Lindsay Muskies. Last season, he played a key role on a Pine Creek HS team ranked in the state Top 10.

Tyler Thompson crosses enemy lines in the ‘Battle of North Durham’ after coming to the Bruins in a mid-season trade with the Port Perry MoJacks.

In the first meeting of the season between two of the PJHL’s fiercest rivals, the Bruins doubled up the Port Perry MoJacks in a Battle of North Durham at the Bear Den.

Cam Smith turned aside 25 shots to earn his third win of the 2019-20 season in net for Uxbridge.

Bruins soar over Eagles in OT

HIGHLIGHTS: Bruins 6 Eagles 5 OT

Josh Cammalleri was the hero for Uxbridge, scoring 31 seconds into overtime to complete a dramatic comeback win on the road for the Bruins. The Bruins scored three times late in the third period to force overtime.
Cam Smith made 19 saves to pick up the win in net for Uxbridge.

The Bruins are back in action on Friday night at 7:45 p.m. the Bear Den against the North Kawartha Knights.

Bruins claw past Panthers
