Bruins Lose a Heart Breaker in Game 6 to Clarington!

It was not meant to be as a hard working Bruins Team just came up short losing 3-2 in overtime to the Clarington Eagles. Brandan Reid got the home team off to a 1-0 lead 4 mins into the game but the Eagles tied it up for a 1-1 tie heading into intermission. 

Daniel Giorgio with a goal made it 2-1 in the third but again the Eagles would tie it sending this exciting game into overtime.

The Eagles ended the Bruins season at 4:18 into overtime much to the disappointment of the local fans. Thx to our Fans for your support and good luck to Clarington and North Kawartha in the Orr division finals.

Bruins Force Game 6 Back in the Bear Den!

Faced with elimination, the Uxbridge Bruins held their own against the Clarington Eagles trailing just 1-0 after two periods of play. The third period was all Bruins as Cameron Moffitt got it rolling tying up the score early, Adam Bilyea got the game winning goal at 13:25. Under 2 minutes later Justin Bennett upped the score to 3-1 and Cameron Gillis got an empty netter to seal the win. Cam Smith faced 35 shots and Uxbridge fired 32 the other way.

Bruins do an About Face in Game 3!

After an Impressive 10-4 drubbing on Friday at the Bear Den the Bruins couldn’t find the magic and fell 5-0 and now trail the Clarington Eagles 2 games to 1 in this series. Shots were 40-34 in favour of the Eagles as the series shifts back to the Bear Den on Wed. Feb. 26 at 8:15 pm.

Eagles get Mauled in the Bear Den!

Bruins Alumni were in the Den!

The Bruins despite being outshot 23-9 in the first led 2-1 on goals by Joshua Cammalleri and Spencer Mazakian. Cam Smith making 22 saves in that period. Scoring for Clarington Dawson Manning.

An early second period goal by the Eagles Brett Poulin evened the score at 2 a piece but 26 seconds later the Bruins exploded for 7 straight goals to take a 9-2 lead. Andronique Stepanian got it started and Toby Cooper, Cammalleri, Daniel Giorgio, and Justin Bennett with 2 made it  8-2 after 2. 

Then in the third Mazakian with 2 more for the hatty and a 10-4 final.  Matt McCullough and Nate Baumhauer scored the other two Eagles goals. The series shifts to Clarington Sunday before heading back to Uxbridge next Wednesday Feb.26th for an 8:15  game start.

Bruins advance to Cougar Cup semi-finals

The Uxbridge Bruins completed the comeback on Saturday, Feb. 15th, eliminating the Little Britain Merchants with a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory in Game 3 of the PJHL Orr Division preliminary round.

HIGHLIGHTS CAPTURED BY PETER OVENS

The Bruins will now square off in the Orr Division Cougar Cup semi-finals in their quest to repeat as Division Champions. Their opponent will be the top-seeded Clarington Eagles. The action gets underway in Bowmanville on Thursday, Feb. 20. Game 2 is set for Friday, Feb. 21 at the Bear Den.

A Wild Finish as the Bruins win the game and series!

With time running out on the clock and the net off at the Bruins goal, the Merchants thought they had the tying goal but the Referee immediately wave off the goal giving the Bruins a wild 3-2 win over Little Britain and advance to face the Clarington Eagles.

After Tyler Watson opened the scoring for the home squad, Toby Cooper scored unassisted to even the score at 1-1, however Little Britain regained the lead on a Chris Talman goal to end the first up 2-1.

It was all Uxbridge Bruins in the second as Joshua Cammalleri from Mathew Hunter and Daniel Giorgio tied it, then Giorgio from Toby Cooper and Cammalleri for the game winning goal. Cam Smith with back to back stellar games in goal for Uxbridge.

Bruins Tie Up the Series!

Despite being out shot 65-35 the Bruins forced a game 3 to decide the the series tomorrow night in Little Britain. Daniel Giorgio and Dalton Strongman with an empty netter were the Bruins scorers and Jody Harris with a late goal to make for a close finish. Cam Smith played his best game as a Bruin turning aside all but one shot in this one.

For five decades, the Uxbridge Bruins have taken great pride in our hundreds of graduates. Our former players have gone on to accomplish great things in hockey, and in life.

Jan. 11 Game at North Kawartha postponed

With the looming threat of freezing rain, the scheduled road game on Saturday, Jan. 11 for the Bruins in Apsley against the North Kawartha Knights has been postponed.
