It was a scoreless first period at the Bear Den tonight despite the Bruins out shooting the Knights 12-5, a pace the Bruins kept up in the second but came out of the 2nd tied at 1-1. Simon Feig sent Michael Rennie in on a breakaway and he fired a shot over the glove hand of NK’s goalie for the lead. Just under 3 mins later the Knights would tie it up to set up the third period dramatics.
Captain Aiden Reilly got his teams game winning goal that clinched first place, kept the unbeaten streak alive at 15 and set a franchise record 32nd win of the year. Jackson Savery got a big insurance goal from a difficult angle with Justin Bennett and Stefan Palatsidis assisting. Final shots were 38-15 Uxbridge as they wrap up the season on Sunday in Sutton at 3:30 pm against the Ice, hoping to add to their record setting season.

Two Vets lead the way for the Bruins this afternoon in Port Perry as Captain Aiden Reilly scored two goals including the winner and Robert Freckelton collected 3 assists enroute to a 4-2 victory and a 13 game unbeaten streak. Toby Cooper got the Bruins rolling in the first on a nice short handed breakout beating the Mojacks Cory Kuypers on the stick side and Michael Rennie followed that up banging home a rebound from Cole Bremner’s point shot.
In the second the Mojacks chipped away at the lead eventually tying it up at 2-2 after two periods of play.
The third saw action back and forth with Uxbridge getting two goals from Reilly including a back hander as he fought off his Mojack defender and a hard wrister after Thomas Sheedy flipped the puck out of his zone to Freckelton and he found Reilly for the goal.
Two game saving saves by Ryan McConkey kept the game in reach for his teammates as Ryan faced 30 shots and his counterpart Cory Kuypers had to handle 31 Bruins Shots.
So Uxbridge holds a 4 point lead on Lakefield and 5 points on North Kawartha setting up the “Crucial Match” this Friday against the Knights as these teams continue the fight to finish first. In the event of a tie Uxbridge holds the tie breaker as they won the season series against both clubs. If they win their final two games they would finish first as well!

The Uxbridge Bruins clawed their way back from a 3-0 deficit to take a 5-4 win in the Battle of North Durham against the Port Perry Mojacks at the Bear Den on Friday night. With 4 seconds left in regulation, Jackson Savery completed a hat trick and extended Uxbridge’s recent unbeaten streak to 12 games. The rivals will renew hostilities in Port Perry on Sunday afternoon at 2:25 p.m.

A nice three way passing play from Justin Bennett to Stefan Palatsidis to Jackson Savery, who then fired it into the open side for a 1-0 first period lead started the scoring in Clarington tonight.
In the second Esa Patton fed Simon Feig who just got out of the penalty box and he fed a perfect pass to Toby Cooper, who buried it for a 2-0 cushion. The Eagles got on the game sheet just after a 5 on 3 power play ended but the Bruins got that one back on a Palatsidis fast breakout, passing back to Savery for a 3-1 lead. The Eagles made it 3-2 Bruins to end the second period.
It stayed that way till Palatsidis scored from the side of the net as he was falling to the ice giving his teammates a much needed insurance goal. Robert Freckelton picked up Mathew Hunter point shot off the back boards and popped it into the empty net for the 5-2 final.
Ryan McConkey picked up his 20th win of the season making several big saves from the 35 shots he faced.

The Bruins and the Knights played a scoreless first period as Uxbridge out shot NK 19-4. Uxbridge started the second strong on Cameron Moffitt’s steal at his blueline and then raced in setting up Bennett Britton for a shot that rebounded back to Moffitt for a goal. Daniel Giorgio would then get a shot on goal and he fired in his rebound for a 2-0 lead. After Esa Patton ripped one of the crossbar the Knights came back with a PP goal to end the second at 2-1Bruins.
They would tie it up early in the third period but the Bruins exploded for 5 straight goals in just over 9 minutes to put this game out of reach, Giorgio with his second goal, Justin Bennett, Mathew Hunter, Moffitt also with his second and Jackson Savery scored for Uxbridge. The Final was 7-3 as the Bruins move into a tie for first place with North Kawartha and Lakefield.
Ryan McConkey again came up with some big saves to pick up the win as Uxbridge out shot the Knights 48-34.
Uxbridge native Bennett Britton picked up his first point as a Bruin, assisting on Cameron Moffitts second goal.
The Uxbridge Bruins visited the Lakefield Chiefs on Tuesday.
Jackson Savery scored a powerplay goal by roofing it over the chiefs tender on the glove side and Justin Bennett added another powerplay goal in the second before the Chiefs got a goal back. Cameron Moffitt gave the Bruins a 3-1 lead in the third as Ryan McConkey made the key saves to preserve the win by a final of 3-2.
Uxbridge is now 2 points back of Lakefield and North Kawartha for first place.
