Bruins Losing Streak Hits 4!

It was a good effort but just short tonight as the Mojacks defeated the Bruins 5-3 to close out 2017. Uxbridge tied the game at 2-2 to end the first period on Cameron Moffitt’s goal but fell behind 4-3 after two. Moffitt got the Bruins first goal and Michael Rennie the third as Ryan McConkey faced 55 shots in the Bruins net.

Uxbridge starts the new year in Lakefield Tues Jan.2 2018.

Bruins Fall Further Back In Loss to Clarington!

The Eagles scored a goal a period for a 3-0 lead before Adam Bartholomew got one late in the game to get the Bruins first goal. That’s how it ended as Uxbridge dropped their 3rd in a row to fall 3 points back of Clarington in the battle for third place. Uxbridge host the Port Perry Mojacks tomorrow Fri. Dec. 29th. at the Bear Den.

Bruins Add to Lineup in a Transaction with Little Britain!

General Manager Mark Savery has added Mark Harris to his forward lineup from the Little Britain Merchants, a move he feels will bring some stability to the Lineup. (Uxbridge has four regulars out of the lineup). He notes he is a tough skilled forward who will wear #3 playing left wing in the lineup tonight as the Bruins take on the Eagles in Clarington. Welcome aboard Mark from the Bruins family!

There was not much for the Dads to cheer about on Player/Parent night in Apsley tonight. The Bruins started out with a first period 1-0 lead on a beautiful back handed goal by Simon Feig but then it was all down hill from there as Uxbridge was outplayed in a 7-2 loss to the Knights. Adam Bartholomew fired a point shot that caught the top right corner on a screened Knights goalie.

Jake Joosten and Ryan McConkey shared the net duties and Uxbridge falls into 4th place as Clarington passes them in the standings. These two teams meet on Thurs Dec.27th in Clarington at 7:20 pm.

A Tough 2-0 Loss to Lakefield On Santa Claus Night!

The Bruins fought hard trailing the Chiefs 1-0 after the first period of play and then the Lakefield squad added a third period goal for a 2-0 final. Ryan McConkey made several huge saves in facing 33 shots while the Bruins fired 34 at Lakefield. Uxbridge has one more game at North Kawartha on Saturday before Christmas.

It was a quick start to the game as Conner Kearney found the back of the net with his behind the goal shot that went in of off the Knights goalie’s skate to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead. Aiden Reilly upped it to 2-0 after the first period of play. Simon Feig took a long pass from Bruins goalie Ryan McConkey for a 3-0 breakaway goal and Kieran Beaudoin added one for a 4-0 lead. Another Feig goal sandwiched around two goals by North Kawartha and it was 5-2 Uxbridge heading into the third. Reilly and Noah Donaghy got third period goals for a 7-3 final over the Knights. Uxbridge out shot the visitors 53-42.

Bruins Skate All Over the Ice!

It was very close first period tonight as the Ice and the Bruins both had 9 shots on goal with Cameron Moffitt the only one to score, but the second period was different. Uxbridge fired home 3 more goals including two by Simon Feig and Noah Donaghy on the same penalty kill for a 4-0 lead after two. Michael Rennie got the other goal for Uxbridge. In the third they opened up a 7-0 lead as Aiden Reilly, Carson Bell, and Moffitt with his second before Ryan McConkey was beaten for two late Ice goals. Final shots 31-27 Uxbridge.

Uxbridge host the North Kawartha Knights on Fri. Dec 15th at the Bear Den.

Tyler Hutchinson Makes It Rain Teddy’s!

It took only a minute and 5 seconds to for the fans to get the cue to throw their Teddy Bears onto the ice at the Bear Den tonight. Tyler Hutchinson fired from in the slot on a perfect pass out from Cameron Moffitt for the Bruins first goal of the game. After the Merchants tied the game at one apiece, the home squad opened up a 3-1 lead heading to intermission. Moffitt with one of his own and Mathew Hunter scored for Uxbridge. Noah Donaghy with two and Aiden Reilly gave the Bruins a 6-2 lead after the second period with Little Britain scoring a third goal in the third. Jake Joosten picked up his 7th win of the season as Uxbridge outshot the Merchants 42 to 24. 

The game on Sunday Dec. 10th vs Georgina has been moved to the Keswick Ice Palace from Sutton at 3:30pm. (Note Change in Venue)

Teddy Bear Toss This Friday Dec.8th!

It’s here, our annual Teddy Bear Toss on Friday Dec.8th when the Uxbridge Bruins host the Little Britain Merchants. When the Uxbridge Bruins score their first goal of the game toss your Teddy Bears onto the ice to help us support the Uxbridge Toy Drive.

Bruins on Short End of 8-0 Loss in Lakefield!

The Bruins just could not get going in Lakefield tonight with 3 of their players (Derek Dolan, Damien Heinle and Robert Freckelton) still on the sidelines recovery from injuries. The home squad scored 4 in the first and 2 in the second and third periods firing 46 shots at the Bruins goalies Ryan McConkey and Jake Joosten. Final score was 8-0 for the Chiefs.

This Friday night is Teddy Bear Toss night, bring your new teddies and when the Bruins score their first goal of the game throw them on to the ice! All Teddy Bears  will be donated to the Uxbridge Toy Drive in partnership with Canadian Tire Uxbridge.
