Uxbridge takes two points in North Kawartha!

The Bruins opened up a 4-0 lead on their way to a 5-2 win over the Knights in Apsley Sat. Oct.28th. APM goalie Antonio Villa backed up Jake Joosten tonight as Ryan McConkey was out with an undisclosed injury. Daniel Giorgio also an APM joined his brother Cristian on the roster in his second call up game with the big club. The Bruins were up 2-0 after one period on goals by Noah Donaghy from Mathew Hunter, Cameron Moffitt (PP) from Adam Bartholomew scored the second goal.

In the 2nd it was Bartholomew (PP) unassisted and Aiden Reilly from Kieran Beaudoin as they led 4-2 heading into the third.

Beaudoin added a power play goal from Hunter for a 5-2 final. Jake Joosten faced 28 shots for the win. The Bruins will be in Lakefield Tuesday Oct.31st where they will continue the battle with the Chiefs for first in a very tight Orr division.

Bruins Fast Start Ends in Loss to Mojacks!

The Bruins started out on a good note scoring two goals in the first period but the Mojacks tied it up in the second and got the game winner in the third. Robert Freckelton (SH) on a breakaway unassisted and then Cameron Moffitt deked the Mojacks goalie on a nice pass from Aiden Reilly scored the Bruins goals. Jake Joosten faced 44 shots and deserved a better fate in this one stopping shots on breakaways and in the slot. Bruins are in Apsley Sat. Oct.28th and Lakefield Tues. Oct.31st.

McConkey and the Bruins Blank the Eagles!

It was a goal tending dual tonight with Ryan McConkey putting on a show in posting back to back shutouts and his 3rd of the season as he stopped all 32 shots he faced. Simon Feig went stick side with his 1st period breakaway goal (SH) and that stood up as the winner in a 3-0 win over Clarington. Cameron Moffitt set up Damien Heinle on a nice two on one late in the third as Heinle powered an off wing wrister over the Clarington goalies glove. An empty net goal by Feig gave Uxbridge the win for a 1 point first place lead over Lakefield, in a very tight Orr division. Uxbridge is off till next Friday when the Port Perry Mojacks play a visit to the Bear Den. click on high lights below.

Ryan McConkey Shuts Out the Ice, Aiden Reilly gets 3!

Uxbridge hammered the Ice with 47 shots enroute to an 8-0 win over Georgina as Ryan McConkey (16 saves) picked up his second shut out of the season. Simon Feig got the only goal in the first but Aiden Reilly added two while Cristian Giorgio added another for a 4-0 second period lead. Reilly completed the hat trick in the third as Robert Freckleton, Kieran Beaudoin and Cameron Moffitt finished it off. Next up Clarington Eagles this Fri. Oct. 20th at the Bear Den.

Bruins back in the Win Column!

Bruins defeat Little Britain 6-1 to move into second place 1 point behind Clarington who were winners over North Kawartha. 
The teams traded goals in the first with Kieran Beaudoin deflecting a pass on the skate to his stick from Robert Freckleton before firing it over the goalies shoulder.

In the second the shot clock shows the Bruins firing 32 and they got 3 more goals as a result, starting with Carson Bell on a breakaway going five hole. Jake Joosten made a great save to start it and Mathew Hunter cleared the rebound to Tyler Hutchinson and he fed a speeding Bell who finished the play off. Cameron Moffitt then on one knee passed the puck to Damien Heinle who beat a Merchants defender with a toe drag and fired a shot glove side for a 3-1 lead.
Next it was time for Cole Bremner to fire a blast form the point for his first Junior C goal on a setup from Beaudoin. Congrats Cole on your first Bruins goal.

Uxbridge added two more in the third when Beaudoin on a goal mouth scramble fired a shot over a sprawling Adam Harris in the Merchants goal. Freckleton and Hutchinson picked up assists, then Moffitt stole the puck at the blue line and scored stick side on a breakaway unassisted. Jake Joosten turned aside 43 shots for the win and Uxbridge finished with a 68 shot total according to pointstreak. Next up is Georgina on a rare Tuesday night game Oct.17/17 at 7:45 pm. 

Bruins Lose 4-1 to Lakefield!

Bruins Fall 4-1 to Lakefield tonight at the Bear Den. The Chiefs had a 1-0 lead after the first and 3-0 after the second. They opened up a 4-0 lead in the third before Damien Heinle got the lone Bruins goal. Uxbridge is in Little Britain Sat Oct.14th and then host Georgina Oct.17th at the Bear Den.

Bruins Blank Mojacks 3-0!

The Bruins got Player of the Month goal-tending in the first period as the Mojacks outshot the Bruins 21-7 and escaped with a 0-0 tie. In the second the winning goal came off the stick of Noah Donaghy and Robert Freckelton got the insurance goal in the third on the power play, adding an empty net goal was Cameron Moffitt for a 3-0 final. Uxbridge settled down in the second with both teams getting 8 shots apiece and then 9-7 advantage in the third for a 36-24 total by Port Perry. Congrats Ryan McConkey on your first shutout of the season.

The Bruins jumped over Lakefield and Clarington for a 1 point lead in first place. A big game Friday Oct.13th when the Chiefs are in town.

Uxbridge Rebounds for a Win Over Little Britain!

Bruins dominate in 9-2 win over Little Britain. Uxbridge had leads of 2-0 after the first and 6-1 at the end of two. Bruins goals came from Noah Donaghy (2), Cameron Moffitt (2), Aiden Reilly(2), Simon Feig, Cristian Giorgio and Adam Bartholomew. Jake Joosten picked up his 2nd win of the season as Uxbridge out shot Little Britain 49-18.

Uxbridge plays in Port Perry Sunday Oct.8th at 2:25pm and then host Lakefield next Friday Oct.13th at the Bear Den.

Bruins Fall to Clarington!

Bruins Blanked 3-0 in Clarington tonight. The Eagles got a goal in each period capitalizing on their scoring chances while Uxbridge could not buy a goal in this game. Ryan McConkey took his first loss of the season in goal as both teams fired 36 shots on goal. Bruins host the Little Britain Merchants Fri. Oct.6th at the Bear Den.

Bruins Escape Town With 2 Points in Little Britain!

It wasn’t pretty but the Bruins hung in battling the Merchants to a 3-3 tie into the third period before getting their first lead of the game. Aiden Reilly tied it at one’s and then Reilly did it again to tie it at two’s after one period of play.

Adam Bartholomew came to the rescue with a wicked point shot in the second sending both teams off the ice tied up at 3-3 going into the third.

Uxbridge got a goal from Cameron Moffitt for the first lead and the game winning goal 7:56 into the final frame, then Carson Bell got a badly needed insurance goal late in the game. After the Merchants pulled their goalie, The “Accuracy Award” goes to Robert Freckelton who sunk a shot into the empty net from his teams goal line area as the Bruins left town with a 6-3 win and a tie for first place with the North Kawartha Knights in the very early stages of the season.
