An early power play goal by the Mojacks in the first period changed the momentum as they ran two more past the Bruins team for a 3-0 lead. Uxbridge playing before a large crowd of 421 fans could only get one back late in the third on a goal mouth scramble as Patrick Bolahood poked it into the net, but Port Perry added an empty netter for a 4-1 final. The Mojacks lead the series 3-0 and Uxbridge must win game 4 Sunday in Port Perry to make Game 5 necessary on Tues. Feb.23 at 7:45pm at the Bear Den.

The Port Perry Mojacks had a lot of power play minutes and cashed in on two of them late to force overtime, eventually winning 3-2. After a scoreless first period where the Bruins took 6 penalties to the Mojacks 1, Marco Mastrangelo stripped the puck off a Port Perry player and scored on a breakaway short handed for a slim lead after two. In the third it was a power play goal by the Captain, Mastrangelo as he fired a wrister that beat the Mojacks goalie for a 2-0 lead with 6 mins and 30 seconds to go. Bruins Will Play The Mojacks in Central Semi’s!

Uxbridge Bruins logo 2nd jerseyWith the sweep of the North Kawartha Knights tonight by a score of 4-0, Port Perry advances to the semi finals to play the Uxbridge Bruins. A schedule will be posted as soon as it is made available.

In the other series Clarington will play Lakefield after the Chiefs swept the Little Britain Merchants with a 4-2 win tonight.

Playoff Update!

Uxbridge Bruins logo 2nd jerseyThe Uxbridge Bruins continue to wait in the wings to see who they will play in the Central Ontario Semi-Finals. One thing for sure is it won’t be the North Kawartha Knights as they would face Clarington as they would be the lowest seeded team to advance. But the Knights are in a jam as they are down 3 games to none to the Port Perry Mojacks and should the Mojacks continue to win the series the Bruins and Port Perry will face in the Reach Road series. This is regardless of who wins Little Britain / Lakefield (North Kawartha loses) where the Chiefs currently hold a 3-0 lead as well. The winner plays Clarington in the other Semi Final matchup with both series not expected to start before Feb.15th.
