Uxbridge blew two goal leads twice but scored with 1:40 left for a 5-4 win on a perfect cross ice pass from Daryl Thomson to Shane Smith who buried it over the shoulder of the Merchants goalie. After out shooting Little Britain 15-6 in the first in one of their best periods of the season and taking a 2-0 lead on Nicholas Sribny’s and Marco Mastrangelo’s goals, they came out flat to start the second. The Merchants tied it up and then the Bruins regained their two goal lead when Thomson and then a goal credited to Mastrangelo but appears to be scored by Thomson made it 4-2 Bruins. Little Britain fought back in the third to tie it once again and it was the heroics of Thomson and Smith that allowed Uxbridge to escape with a 5-4 win. Branden Francey picked up his 7th win of the season in goal for the Bruins. A special thanks to UMHA’s Hawks / Kings for the great display of hockey during the first intermission.

After a scoreless first period and some big saves from goaltender Branden Francey, it was Wes Cowie that got the offence going with a shot from the goal-line that hit the pad of the Chiefs tender going into the net for a 1-0 lead. Lakefield would tie it before the period ended and they would add two more for a 3-1 lead in the third. Patrick Bolahood deflected an Aiden Reily’s point shot to get Uxbridge within one but despite a power play in the last 1 minute and 30 seconds and Francey on the bench, they could not get the equalizer falling 3-2 to the Chiefs.
