Things started out well for the Bruins as they opened up a 2-0 lead early in the first on the strength of goals from Carter Vahey’s point blasts, both power play goals. But the Merchants answered with 2 power play goals of their own to end the first tied. In the second Little Britain took a 3-2 lead before Jarett Smith (PP) scored the first of his 2 goals on the night. Special teams again led to a Merchants goal for the 4-3 lead, but Smith added the tying goal on the power play to tie it at four apiece. In overtime Max Tjin was forced to make 3 breakaway saves but the Merchants Kurtis Moore scored on a partial breakaway as they defeated the Bruins 5-4. Uxbridge needs any combination of 2 points (a win or Port Perry regulation loss) to secure 3rd place in the standings.
