Geoff Hodgkinson Named Head Coach of the Junior C Bruins!

The Uxbridge Bruins welcome Geoff Hodgkinson as Head Coach of the Bruins and thank Dan West for his dedication last season coaching Uxbridge to a first place finish. Dan has accepted the head coaching position with the Lindsey Muskies of the OJHL. Geoff was a 4 year Bruins player (Captain his last 2 seasons) and played in an Ontario Provincial Semi Finals in his final year. He told Darryl Knight of the Uxbridge Standard…

“Being a Bruin previously, there is definitely a Bruins’ way, and that’s never left me in the past 12 years of coaching at the ‘AAA’ level. I’m familiar with the program, and have really instilled it in my coaching, which has lead to an easier transition,”

“Geoff is pleased to announce his assistant coaches for the upcoming season. Returning from last year’s Bruins Staff is Drew Langlands who is a life time Uxbridge resident and played in the Uxbridge Minor Hockey system, as well as a partial season as a Jr. C. Bruin before leaving to pursue his post-secondary education. His 7 year coaching career began with Uxbridge Minor Hockey and he also is head coach at Riverdale Collegiate for the Varsity Boys Tier 1 program.

Also assisting Geoff is a former Bruin and team-mate, Warren Cooper from Newmarket where he has been involved with their Major Atom and Minor Midget teams. Warren played Junior C in 1999-2000 with Uxbridge racking up an impressive 40 goals and 25 assists. He played in the OPJHL for Pickering, Stouffville, and Wellington with a season in the OHL for the Mississauga Ice Dogs. His last season was as a minor pro with the Richmond Riverdogs of the United Hockey League.”
